Justin Bieber’s Pet Boa Constrictor Now at The Rad Zoo

Justin Bieber’s pet boa constrictor, Johnson, has found a new home at The Rad Zoo in Owatonna, Minnesota, according to TMZ. The snake was auctioned to support Pencils of Promise, a nonprofit focused on global children’s education. Bieber, a longtime supporter of the organization, helped launch the “Schools 4 All” campaign in 2011 and showcased the boa at the 2011 MTV Music Awards.

An anonymous donor won the auction for Johnson and donated it to The Rad Zoo to ensure it receives proper care. The Rad Zoo, which opened in October 2009, is known as Minnesota’s premier reptile destination and features various herps, including snakes, turtles, lizards, crocodilians, toads, frogs, and salamanders. Notable residents include Bella, a 14ft python, and Big Al, a 12ft alligator.

Regarding the auction, Charity Buzz has not released the final selling price, but ReptileChannel reported a bid of $1,361.11 on November 9, 2011. Charity Buzz retains 20 percent of the auction total, with 80 percent going to Pencils of Promise.
